DAVID WEDHE
Lisbon
DaVid LeStat Wehde, 20, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, at his home in Cedar Rapids.
DaVid was a fiercely independent, amazingly kind, compassionately generous and deeply caring young man. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and his smile and laughter lit up a room. DaVid was deeply loved by his family and he will be dearly missed. Due to significant health issues he decided to end his life on his own terms.
A Celebration of DaVid's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Peoples Church Unitarian Universalist, 4980 Gordon Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids; www.peoplesuu.org; https://goo.gl/maps/Pj6Lk. A luncheon will be served following the service.
The services will be inclusive and respectful of the various faith traditions of our immediate and extended family members. I ask that you come with an open mind and an open heart to help us celebrate DaVid's life and mark his passing.
Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery, rural Anamosa, at a later date. The Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, is caring for DaVid and his family.
Thoughts, memories and condolences may be left at www.goettschonline.com.
Surviving him are his mother and stepfather, Jennifer and Ben Brade; three sisters, Miriam, Laura and Emily; a brother, Owen; a half sister, McKayla Vanderpool; his grandparents, John and Mary Ann Remington, Carla and Kerry Barnes and Cherrie Brade; two uncles, James and Mike Remington; and many other family members and friends who loved him.
DaVid was a 2013 graduate of the Lisbon Community Schools. He was employed at Video Games Etc. in Cedar Rapids.
