Thousands of new babies and their families have received books at Cedar Rapids hospitals for more than five years. The program is a partnership between United Way Young Leaders, Grant Wood Area Education Agency, Friends of the Library and Childcare Resource & Referral.
We are now handing out a new series.
United Way would like to thank our Young Leaders Society for helping choose the new book title for our Babies and Books program!
The "Baby Days Board Books" that was chosen includes the titles Baby Bathes, Counts, Eats, Feels, and Busy Baby. The Baby Days board books are designed to keep the youngest book lovers stimulated, engaged, and interested with full-color photographs of babies in action! These titles will be given out to each baby born at St. Luke's Hospital and Mercy Medical Center here in Cedar Rapids.
"We are excited to be able to give new books to new parents. We thought it was time for some new stories," said Leslie Wright, United Way VP of Community Building. "This partnership has been a classic example of United Way's commitment to education in the community."
