On Jan. 8, 1916, in an apartment above her parents' general store in Lourdes, Iowa, Violet Angeline Fisher was born to Mary Ann (Dusheck) and Frank Fisher.

On March 8, 2016, she transcended this earthly world to join her husband, Everett Davies.

They were united in marriage on Feb. 11, 1938, in Mason City, Iowa. To that union, a daughter, Deborah Ann, joined the family in June 1948.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Everett in 1973; her parents, a brother, Robert, a half sister, Arvilla Diestler Jordan; and her son-in-law, Dr. Richard L. Sedlacek.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ann Davies Sedlacek; grandson, Dr. Douglas T. Sedlacek (Pat) of Cedar Rapids; and two great-granddaughters, Keisha Marie Sedlacek (Riaz Mohammed) of Takoma Park, Md., and her sister, Nicole Ann Sedlacek (fiance Mark Laughler) of Charlotte, N.C. These two young ladies gave her added incentive to live, continue her vocation as a teacher and thoroughly enjoy her great-granddaughters. She called them her "playmates." They were a very tightly bonded crew!!

A private family service and burial will be held at a later date in Marengo.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Promise House Assisted Living (for clients with dementia) and Dr. Mary Anne Nelson for her excellent medical care.
