Police seek public’s help to find owners of dog who bit person at dog park

IOWA CITY - Police are seeking the public's help in finding the owners of a dog that bit a person at an Iowa City dog park Saturday.
According to a news release, the victim was attempting to intervene in a fight between two dogs at Rita's Ranch Dog Park, 640 S. Scott Blvd., at about 1 p.m. Saturday and was bitten on the hand.
The dog that bit the victim was described as a medium to large, white and fawn covered American Staffordshire mix. The owners, described as an older white male and female, left the park immediately after the incident, according to the news release.
Iowa City Animal Services is seeking information regarding the dog's rabies vaccination. Anyone with information on the owners is asked to contact Iowa City Animal Services at 319-356-5295, Ext. 7 or the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-6800.
