New state education director at forum in Cedar Rapids tonight

CEDAR RAPIDS - Jason Glass, Gov. Terry Branstad's pick to be Iowa's new Department of Education director, is expected to attend a forum from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Grant Wood Area Education Agency, 4401 Sixth St. SW.
The forum is sponsored by United Way of East Central Iowa, the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and Diversity Focus.
The program will feature a panel discussion on local education issues, small group dialogue, and an opportunity to ask questions and share information on how to engage in educational programs that already exist in the community.
