Jeff McGinness is not talking about his professional problems or whether he'll remain on the Iowa City school board.
The Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission is recommending the Iowa City attorney lose his law license for six months for falsifying documents and lying about it. The Iowa Supreme Court still must decide on the discipline.
After not responding to messages from The Gazette last week, McGinness on Wednesday wrote “No comment” in reply to an email asking him about the disciplinary recommendation and what his intentions are regarding his school board seat.
McGinness, who is a former NCAA champion wrestler at the University of Iowa, is in the middle of his first four-year term on the Iowa City school board.
State officials have said they know of no law that would require McGinness to step down from the elected post.
