Gas tax increase needed for better roads

I believe that a gas tax will be the best way to pay for road construction.
Brenda Neville, president of the Iowa Motor Truck Association, has pointed out that Iowa has some of the worst bridges and roads in the nation. Raising the gas tax will help the government have more to spend on solving this issue.
The House Transportation Subcommittee in Iowa has passed the state Senate bill to raise fuel tax by 8 cents. The tax can provide more opportunity for the government to spend money on road repairs. In addition, not only the residents of Iowa are paying the gas tax, but all the people who are using the roads are paying for the tax.
It's necessary to increase the gas tax if people want to have better roads. Especially in Iowa, public transportation isn't as convenient as other big cities. Driving is the most common way for us to travel. For this reason, having a comfortable and safe road is important and raising the gas tax is the way to help us achieve the goal.
