HUXLEY, Iowa (AP) - Police are investigating the death of twins born over the weekend in a 22-year-old woman's apartment in central Iowa.
The state Department of Public Safety said Sunday that Huxley Police went to the woman's apartment in Huxley Saturday because someone was concerned about her welfare.
When police reached the apartment, they discovered that the woman had given birth to twins, and the babies did not survive.
The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Her condition wasn't known, and officials did not immediately respond to a message Sunday.
Autopsies will be conducted on the babies Monday. Officials said no other information would be released until after the autopsies.
