One killed, three hurt in Davenport shooting

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - One person has been killed and three others injured in a shooting outside a Davenport events center.

Davenport police say a fight erupted late Saturday in The Col Ballroom and continued outside in the street and an adjacent parking lot. Investigators believe the melee stemmed from a Friday altercation between two groups.

Police say 19-year-old Michael Williams, of Davenport, died at a hospital soon after being shot in the upper torso. The three other victims were taken to hospitals in Iowa and Illinois in private vehicles. They were identified as 24-year-old Vincent Howard and 18-year-old Raheem Houston, both of Davenport, and 19-year-old Aaron Ellis, of Rock Island, Ill.

Police say several suspects have been identified but no arrests have been announced. More information was to be released Monday.
