Cedar Rapids man charged with abuse of girl
IOWA CITY - John J. Lane, 43, of Cedar Rapids was arrested in Iowa City on Monday and charged with second-degree sex abuse.
Information in police documents say a girl under the age of 12 and her mother told investigators that Lane sexually assaulted the girl on April 15. A secondary interview was also conducted with the child at the Child Protection Center, police said.
Lane is being held at the Johnson County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
Second-degree sexual abuse is a class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
