Former Olin teacher found guilty of sexual exploitation

ANAMOSA -The jury found former Olin High teacher Jeremy Chamberlin guilty on all six counts related to sexual exploitation of a student late Friday in Jones County District Court.
, 34, a former Olin High School resource teacher and volleyball coach, was charged with felony sexual exploitation by a school employee, two misdemeanor counts of lascivious conduct of a minor and three misdemeanor counts of disseminating or exhibiting of obscene materials to a minor.
The jury started deliberations about 4 p.m. Friday and reached a verdict about 6:45 p.m., Jones County Attorney Phil Parsons said Monday. He declined to comment further about the trial.
The 14-year-old victim, now 16, testified during trial that Chamberlin started out texting her to discuss volleyball and other school activities but then the texting turned sexual. He eventually asked her to meet him on several occasions between September 2009 and January 2010 when they could be alone. The girl testified that he kissed and groped her and it made her scared and uncomfortable.
