Former Iowa gubernatorial candidate Bob Vander Plaats will bring his "Capturing Momentum" tour to Iowa City this afternoon.

Vander Plaats will be appearing as a representative of his group, The Family Leader, at 4 p.m. today at the Pizza Ranch, 1610 Sycamore St., at the Sycamore Mall in Iowa City.

The event is part of a statewide tour promoting the group's agenda, which includes support for an Iowa constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, opposition to abortion, and an effort to keep "judicial activism" in check in Iowa.
