Iowa City software developer to hire 24

IOWA CITY — MetaCommunications, an Iowa City-based developer of project management software and collaboration tools for marketing and creative departments, is planning to expand its work force.

In preparation for the release of three software products this spring, MetaCommunications will be filling 24 positions involving sales, marketing, document/training, and software engineering.

“The release of our new software products marks a major event for our business and a major expansion of the markets we serve,” Robert Long, president of MetaCommunications, said in a news release.

“We are excited that the results of our research and development investments of the past several years are ready for market, and we are looking forward to launching the sales and marketing efforts.”

Long said the staff expansion is in the early stages and he expects substantial growth to continue into the foreseeable future.

The release of the software highlights an intensive development effort by the company’s Iowa City and St. Petersburg, Russia, offices spanning more than three years.

The Iowa City Area Development Group worked directly with MetaCommunications the past few years on the project, helping connect the company with state work force programs and will continue to help them target skilled work force.
