Another teen arrested in Iowa City home burglary, theft

Iowa City police have made another arrest in the May theft of $50,000 worth of items from an Iowa City home.
Kenny B. Ardon-Hernandez, 18, of 2100 Scott Blvd. Lot 131, was booked into the Johnson County Jail Thursday on charges of first-degree theft and third-degree burglary.
He and two other people are accused of going to a home on Langenberg Avenue in Iowa City on the night of May 8, knowing the family who lived there was out of town, according to a criminal complaint. Police say Ardon-Hernandez and one of the other suspects entered the home and stole numerous items, mostly jewelry, worth $50,000.
An informant led police to three of the suspects.
Wally Patheuangsin, 19, of Coralville, and Deonte D. Pierre, 19, of Iowa City, were arrested in December on the same charges. Luis O. Cardona, 19, of Iowa City has been charged with accessory to a felony for allegedly pawning some of the stolen property.
First-degree theft is a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Third-degree burglary is a Class D felony with a maximum of five years in prison and a $7,500 fine.
