Six INA first-team all-staters return for 2017-18

Top area girls basketball players to watch for 2017-18: 

Logan Cook, 6-1, sr., Iowa City West — Averaged 15.0 points and 6.2 rebounds per game last season. Class 5A 1st-team INA all-state. Committed to Iowa.

Mary Crompton, 5-8, sr., Iowa City Regina — Averaged 18.0 points per game last season. Shot 55.4 percent from the field, 47.2 percent from 3-point range and 88.2 percent from the free-throw line. 1,178 career points. Class 2A 1st-team all-state. Committed to Illinois State.

Hailey Dolphin, 5-7, sr., Cedar Rapids Kennedy — Averaged 16.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game last season. Shot 74.8 percent from the free throw line. MVC Valley Division 1st-team. Committed to Rockhurst University.

Alyssa Jaeger, 5-11, sr., Springville — Averaged 5.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game last season. Class 1A 3rd-team INA all-state.

Aubrey Joens, 5-8, soph., Iowa City High — Averaged 12.1 points and 5.0 rebounds per game last season. Shot 72.5 percent from the free-throw line. MVC Valley Division 2nd-team.

Ashley Joens, 5-11, sr., Iowa City High — Averaged 21.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game last season. Shot 50.9 percent from the floor. 1,380 career points. Class 5A 1st-team INA all-state. Committed to Iowa State.

Kayba Laube, 5-8, soph., Marion — Averaged 13.8 points per game last season. Shot 51.5 percent from the field, 43.7 percent from 3-point range and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line. Class 4A 2nd-team INA all-state. Committed to Northern Iowa.

Rylee Menster, 5-6, sr., Springville — Averaged 17.7 points, 3.7 assists and 5.9 steals per game last season. Shot 57.8 percent from the floor. 1,159 career points. Class 1A 1st-team INA all-state. Committed to Minnesota State-Mankato.

Mikayla Nachazel, 5-11, sr., Springville — Averaged 18.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game last season. Shot 53.4 percent from the floor. 1,215 career points. Class 1A 1st-team INA all-state. Committed to Minnesota State-Mankato.

Chloe Rice, 5-10, sr., Marion — Averaged 14.7 points and 3.3 assists per game last season. Shot 50.8 percent from the field and 79.7 percent from the free-throw line. 1,008 career points. Class 4A 1st-team INA all-state. Committed to Saint Louis.

Rachael Saunders, 5-8, jr., Iowa City West — Averaged 12.4 points and 2.1 assists per game last season. Shot 74.6 percent from the free-throw line. Class 5A 3rd-team INA all-state. Committed to Creighton.

Sarah Schmitt, 5-9, jr., Cedar Rapids Prairie — Averaged 13.4 points and 2.2 assists per game last season. MVC Valley Division 1st-team. Committed to Nebraska-Omaha.

Ashley Tull, 5-11, sr., North Linn — Averaged 14.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 2.8 blocks per game last season. Shot 52.4 percent from the field. Class 2A 2nd-team all-state.

Alex Wiese, 6-0, jr., Iowa City Regina — Averaged 15.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game last season. Shot 63.0 percent from the field. Class 2A 3rd-team all-state.

Allie Wooldridge, 6-1, sr., Center Point-Urbana — Averaged 12.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game last season. 954 career points. Class 3A 2nd-team INA all-state. Committed to Drake.
