Allie Wooldridge changes her mind: It’s Drake

As time went by, home started to play on Allie Wooldridge's heart.
Her home state, to be more specific.
'I wanted to play close to home,' said the senior from Center Point-Urbana. 'I want to see my family and friends in the stands.'
Less than a week after canceling her allegiance to Green Bay, Wooldridge gave a verbal commitment to play basketball at Drake University.
'I'm an Iowa girl, and I want to be a part of playing UNI, Iowa and Iowa State,' she said Friday night.
'It was a very hard thing to tell (Green Bay) Coach (Kevin) Borseth (of the decision). I have so much respect for him. But I couldn't be happier about this.'
A 6-foot forward, Wooldridge averaged 12.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game last season as the Stormin' Pointers went 22-4 and reached the Class 3A state semifinals.
Wooldridge withdrew her commitment to Green Bay last Saturday, then gave her word to Drake after visiting campus Friday.
'It just feels like it's supposed to be. Their program is total tradition and history,' Wooldridge said. 'It feels like a family I want to be a part of.'
Drake went unbeaten in the Missouri Valley Conference last season and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
