Iowa high school boys' basketball 2018 district pairings: 1A, 2A
The coaches have had their seeding meetings, and now the pairings are out for Iowa's smaller two boys' basketball classes.
The IHSAA released district brackets for Classes 1A and 2A Thursday. District play begins with a few 1A first-round games on Monday, Feb. 12. The rest of the teams are in action with quarterfinals on Thursday, Feb. 15. Class 2A quarterfinals are Monday, Feb. 12. Two 2A teams in each district get byes to the semifinals on Thursday, Feb. 15.
District finals in 2A are Tuesday, Feb. 20 and Thursday, Feb. 22 in 1A. Substate finals in both classes are Saturday, Feb. 24 for both classes, with winners advancing to the state tournament at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, which is March 5-9.
Substate pairings for 3A and 4A will be out next week. Seeding meetings are Wednesday.
