Big Ten grants Connor McCaffery's hardship waiver

Will have 4 years of basketball eligibility remaining

IOWA CITY — The Big Ten Conference announced Monday it has granted Iowa Hawkeyes freshman guard Connor McCaffery’s hardship waiver petition.

McCaffery, son of head coach Fran McCaffery, played in just four games this season, averaging 13.3 minutes. He missed two games because of a sprained ankle, eight to due to mononucleosis and 19 after having his tonsils removed in December.

McCaffery will have four years of basketball eligibility remaining because of the hardship waiver.
