AMES — Iowa State defensive back Mackenro Alexander was in the Story County Jail on Friday after he was arrested on counts that included assault with injury, according to online records.

The arrest was first reported by the Ames Tribune.

Alexander, a fifth-year senior entering his second season with the Cyclones, was arrested Friday on four counts: two counts of assault with injury, one count of first-degree harassment and one count of fifth-degree criminal mischief. No bond was set as of mid-afternoon Friday.

Entering fall camp, Alexander was listed as a backup linebacker and safety.
