The Iowa Hawkeyes (4-3, 2-2) dropped a 17-10 overtime game Saturday at Northwestern (4-3, 2-2). Below is a stream of updates from the game.
Final: Northwestern 17, Iowa 10
Iowa was stopped on four downs on the second possession of OT as Noah Fant dropped a 4th-and-3 pass from Nate Stanley.
Clayton Thorson gave Northwestern the lead on the first possession of OT.
Justin Jackson's 23-yard catch-and-run to the goal line on 3rd and 9 set up the TD.
End of regulation: The boo birds are out in Evanston as Northwestern chose to play for overtime despite having two timeouts and 90 seconds.
1:30 4th: Iowa 10, Northwestern 10
Miguel Recinos' 48-yard field goal tied the game at 10.
Iowa had 4th and inches at the Northwestern 26, but a false start penalty led to the Hawkeyes bringing out Recinos.
5:30 4th: Northwestern once again went for it on fourth down, but bailed out Iowa with an offensive pass interference penalty on 4th and 5. The Wildcats are 3-of-6 on fourth downs today. The Hawkeyes have 5 1/2 minutes to go 70 yards.
7:04 4th: Clear miscommunication between Nate Stanley and Ihmir Smith-Marsette leads to an easy interception for J.R. Pace, who returned it 23 yards to the Iowa 35.

Charlie Kuhbander's 30-yard field goal gave the Wildcats their first lead.
The Wildcats gambled and converted a 4th-and-1 from the Iowa 16 on a QB sneak, but Anthony Nelson sacked Clayton Thorson on 3rd and 4 to set up 4th and long from the 13.
13:38 4th: The final quarter begins with an Iowa three-and-out and punt. Northwestern begins at its 30. The Hawkeyes have gained just 21 yards in the second half.
0:10 3rd: Northwestern couldn't convert a 4th-and-7 at the Iowa 32 as Clayton Thorson's pass fell incomplete on the 12th play of the drive.

Nate Stanley hit a wide-open Noah Fant for a 7-yard TD and the game's first points.
That was set up by the deep ball Iowa fans have been waiting for connected as Stanley found Matt VandeBerg for a 61-yard gain to the Northwestern 16.
2:29 2nd: Josh Jackson nearly had an interception on a leaping deflection on the sideline, but couldn't stay in bounds as he hit the turf. A three-and-out gives Iowa the ball back, at its 23.
3:11 2nd: Toren Young picked up 23 yards on a reception down the sideline, but Iowa's offense sputtered again and Ryan Gersonde's punt rolled into the end zone.
5:46 2nd: Northwestern drove deep enough to be in four-down territory, but a false start backed the Wildcats up for a 4th-and-11 punt, which went into the end zone.
10:03 2nd: A second straight three-and-out for the Hawkeyes after two Nate Stanley overthrows and a false-start penalty. Northwestern starts at its 20 after Colten Rastetter's 55-yard punt.

0:42 1st: Northwestern picked up another first down, but the Iowa defense quickly forced a punt. Parker Hesse and Nathan Bazata combined for a third-down sack. Iowa ball at its 10. The Wildcats gained just 29 yards on nine plays in the first.
3:12 1st: Iowa again put together a solid drive, but came up empty. Miguel Recinos missed a 37-yard field goal wide left. The Hawkeyes have 127 yards on 22 plays, but no points to show for it.
9:28 1st: Josh Jackson nearly picked off Clayton Thorson on 3rd and short and the Wildcats were forced to punt after picking up one first down. Iowa ball at its 10.
10:49 1st: Iowa chose to go for it on 4th and 5 from the Northwestern 28 on its opening drive, but Nate Stanley's pass to Akrum Wadley was broken up. Stanley completed 3 of 7 for 41 yards on that possession.
Iowa will be without two of its best defenders against Northwestern. Safety Brandon Snyder (knee) and linebacker Josey Jewell (shoulder) are out with injuries.
Snyder just returned from a torn ACL two weeks ago against Illinois, but sprained his knee. Jewell hurt his shoulder making a tackle against the Illini.
