Watch out for motorcycles this and every month

My name is Tom Wright my wife and I are the district directors for Gold Wing Road Riders Association, or “GWRRA”. The month of May is noted as Motorcycle Awareness Month. As you know the beginning of April you start to see more and more Motorcycles out sharing the road with other motorists by May we are many, that is the reason May is recognized as Motorcycle Awareness Month.

We are also members of Chapter F of GWRRA. We are located in Cedar Rapids and hold our gatherings at the Oakland Road Hy-Vee Food Store at 8 a.m. on the 3rd Saturday of the month. We are hosting many events around the city this year. The first will be our Spring Wing Warm Up that will be held a McGrath Power Sports on May 6. On May 13 we will be hosting a Motorcycle Awareness Show at the Oakland Road Hy-Vee. We will have many of the chapter motorcycles on display with different information about what GWRRA is all about. Then on June 26 Chapter F will have been in operation for 25 years so we will be hosting a Chrome Anniversary Party at Palisades Kepler State Park in the Lodge. Last but not least, the Iowa District of GWRRA and McGrath Power Sports will be hosting our Iowa District Rally on Sept. 29-30 at McGrath Power Sports.

GWRRA is a not-for-profit organization that offers education for motorcyclists and motorists alike. Once a year in Iowa we hold what is known as Safety Weekend, we have motorcycle, trike, and medic first aid, and CPR classes offered to our members. We welcome any kind of motorcycle to our organization and we have chapters located all over the world.

So everyone please watch for us on the road. We thoroughly enjoy our hobby and wish to share it with all. Thanks for listening.
