Inspired to serve city I love

  • Photo

I am age 61, and have been married for 38 years. I’m also a father of three who has resided in Cedar Rapids for 28 years.

I am the pastor and founder of Lifeline Ministries Church founded 1991 to this present day. I served as a Linn County Jail and Detention Center chaplain from 1993 to 2003. I presently serve as a public safety chaplain to the Cedar Rapids Police Department.

I have worked to be a proactive community bridge builder and drum major for peace. I have pioneered efforts to bring reconciliation to every sector. I have spearheaded an annual community event that promotes diversity and inclusion of all.

I have been inspired to run for mayor of the city that I love. I want to see Cedar Rapids continue to move forward as a great place to live. I want to see diversity become a part of our city council, so that everyone knows they have a voice in the city.

I will be fair and compassionate to the concerns of our residents. I will continue to promote economic growth so that everyone has an opportunity to prosper. I plan to start a scholarship fund with my first month’s mayoral salary. Accessible funds for those unable to access usual means of funding, but have proved their desire to succeed by putting forth the energy and effort to make it happen — single parents, entrepreneurs, veterans and others.

My heart is to serve. I would love an opportunity to serve Cedar Rapids as your mayor.
