According to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, a structure fire began midmorning on the 3800 block of Clark Road SE in Cedar Rapids, IA.

A pick up in the driveway was found burning and the garage was extensively damaged, with the flames spreading to the house, according to a media release.

The fire was fully under control by 10:56 a.m. and the responding crews shifted their focus to searching for other spot fires, said a battalion chief with the CRFD.

According to the department, all occupants of the home were in the front yard without injuries before crews arrived. Two cats were later found alive in the home’s basement, and a neighbor reported seeing other cats escaping before crews arrived.

No other properties on the block experienced damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
