Pate elected to association post

Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate of Cedar Rapids was elected Midwestern region vice president of the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) during the group's annual meeting in Nashville over the weekend.
As one of 11 members on the board, Pate will serve a one-year term.
Additionally, Pate was reappointed as co-chairman of the NASS Business Services Committee.
Pate, 58, a former mayor of Cedar Rapids and Iowa state senator, is president of Pate Asphalt Systems in Marion.
