After nearly two decades of helping Eastern Iowa runners find the perfect pair of shoes, the owners of Running Wild announced they're retiring.
Joe and Jean Dwyer said on the store's website and in an email to customers this week that the locations on Coralville and Cedar Rapids will be closed beginning Friday.
The couple opened their first location in Coralville in 1999. Since then, the pair opened a location in Cedar Rapids in 2003 and an Iowa City location in 2012, according to its website.
In October, the Iowa City store was consolidated into its Coralville location and closed.
The Dwyers could not be reached for additional comment, but in an email to customers they said they've enjoyed working with runners to help reach their health and fitness goals.
'We have reached that point in time where we have decided to 'hang op our running shoes' and retire,' they said. 'It has been our pleasure serving you over the past 17 years.'
