North Liberty will get its own Dunkin’ Donuts as a local franchise expands in the Corridor.

Eastern Iowa Food Service, the company behind five other Corridor stores, plans to build one at 618 Meade Dr. in North Liberty, a building permit filed with the city shows. It would be next to the Station, a gas station and convenience store, near the intersection of West Penn Street and Highway 965 NE.

Once open, the about 2,000-square-foot Dunkin’ Donuts would have a drive-through window and seating for 14.

Andrea Farley, director of operations for Eastern Iowa Food Service, did not return messages seeking comment Monday. It’s not clear when the North Liberty restaurant will open.

Eastern Iowa Food Service is a subsidiary of Burlington-based Reif Oil Co. The company signed an agreement with Dunkin’ Donuts for the Eastern Iowa franchise territory in 2011. At the time, the company announced plans to open 12 stores in the area by 2018.

The company already operates two Dunkin’ locations in Cedar Rapids — 1640 Edgewood Rd. SW and 2905 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE. It also has stores in Marion, 584 Seventh Ave.; Coralville, 604 Second St.; and Iowa City, 2580 Naples Ave. SW.
