Burlington Stores said it will hire 75 people to work at its new 40,400-square-foot store under construction at Westdale in Cedar Rapids.
The national off-price retailer will host a job fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 11 and Friday, Aug. 12, at 3475 Westdale Dr. SW. Burlington Stores is seeking to fill full- and part-time positions for supervisors, cashiers and customer-service staff, as well as receiving and front-end employees.
Lisa Rowe, vice president for retail and Westdale general manager, said contractors are putting the final touches on the store, which should be delivered to Burlington Stores within the next week. The company plans to open the store in September, according to a news release.
The Westdale store will be the only Burlington in the Corridor and one of three in Iowa.
Burlington will offer coats, women’s dresses, suits, sportswear, juniors, accessories, menswear, family footwear and children’s clothing. It also will carry an assortment of furniture and accessories for babies, home decor and gifts.
Burlington, with 567 stores in 45 states and Puerto Rico, will be an anchor at Westdale along with J.C. Penney and Younkers.
Rowe said new signs have been installed at all the entrances to Westdale and work is continuing on interior roads and parking lots. She said the groundbreaking for a hotel on the Williams Boulevard SW perimeter of Westdale will be held later this month or in early September.
