A graveside committal was held at Altoona Cemetery on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, for Robert Shultice, M.D., who died peacefully at home in Boonville, Mo., on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014.
Robert Wallace Shultice, 83, was born July 16, 1931, in Ottawa, Kan. He graduated from Altoona High School and received his M.D. degree and an M.S. degree in pharma-cology from the University of Iowa. He did an intern-ship at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines and a psychiatric residency at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He practiced psychiatry in Cedar Rapids for 31 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He is survived by two sons, Nathaniel Robert (Claudette) of Pasadena, Calif., and Daniel Charles of Iowa City; three sisters, Eva Bell of Boonville, Mo., Patricia (James) Tiedeman of Charlottesville, Va., and Mary (Martin) Blood of Liberty, Mo.; his former wife, Sandra Ong of Blairstown; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorsey Charles and Mary Elizabeth Crew Shultice, and a brother, Marion.
