Gordon Warnke, 85, of Marion, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015, following a brief battle with cancer. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of 60 years;
daughters, Candis Hebson of Highland Park, Ill., Tracy (James) Unmacht of Phoenix, Ariz., and Michelle Kennedy of Portland, Ore.; and grandchildren, Grace (Jason) Unmacht Kendall, James Unmacht III, William Hebson and Evan Kennedy.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, sister, brother, son-in-law and granddaughter.
Gordon was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Sept. 2, 1929. He graduated from Maynard High School, attended Upper Iowa University and Iowa State Teachers College, and served four years in the U.S. Air Force.
Gordon worked at Rockwell for 30 years, and was a charter and active member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, where he served in many capacities. The latter years he used his musical talents singing with the Older Hymns Men's Choir.
