I'm sure many of you have been in or at least have seen the visitor's lockerroom at Kinnick Stadium. Yes, it's pink, many shades of pink. So, this is nothing new, this little tour here.
I don't see this as a slam toward anyone or anything, but I see them through my eyes, not through others'. It's like arguing taste, again. Some see it one way, others see it another. However, one side does feel injured and that puts the issue in another light. That's too bad. I don't think that's what Hayden Fry was going for.
Fry always used the psychology reasoning, that pink is a calming color. Don't know if I agree with that, but teams have wallpapered it with brown paper among other crazy ways to cover it up. I guarantee you every year you're going to see a pink lockerroom story from the opposing side.
It's part of the tapestry of college football, which comes quirkier than most other sports. Teams in the Big Ten fight for pig, ax, oaken buckets and little brown jug trophies. I believe the opponent's lockerroom at Wisconsin's Camp Randall Stadium is baby blue, along the same lines of calming color.
Kind of what makes the game yours, mine and ours.
All I know is those urinals are as dusty rose as it gets.
