DES MOINES — Three standouts on the third day of the 2023 Iowa High School Athletic Association state wrestling tournament at Wells Fargo Arena.
1. Reanah Utterback, Sigourney-Keota
Utterback earned a top-eight finish at 106 pounds in Class 1A and became the second girl to medal at the IHSAA state tournament. She beat Earlham’s Dallas Canoyer, 7-2, to place.

2. Rowdy Neighbor, Alburnett
Neighbor upended Missouri Valley’s defending state champion and No. 1-seeded Eli Becerra in the Class 1A semifinals. The sophomore 113-pounder used a reversal to win 2-0.

3. Mount Vernon
The Mustangs set a school record Friday. They advanced six wrestlers into the top eight, topping the old record of four that was last done in 2004.
