Volleyball positions at Springville, City High are open
Claude Howard steps down after leading Springville to 8 state tournaments; Tricia Carty resigns after 20 years within the City program, the last 5 as head coach

Claude Howard, who coached Springville to eight state volleyball tournaments in the past 10 years, confirmed to The Gazette that he has announced his resignation.
Howard posted a record of 293-93. The Orioles were 38-4 this season and reached the Class 1A state semifinals.
“I have not accepted a job anywhere elsewhere and plan to weigh opportunities,” he said via email.

Springville was the 1A runner-up in 2021.
Also, Tricia Carty has stepped down at Iowa City High after serving 20 years with the program, the last five as head coach.
Carty led the Little Hawks to an 86-69 mark and three regional finals.
