According to ancient myth, Orpheus was the greatest musician ever born. When his wife died unexpectedly, he refused to give up on her. He used his musical gift to gain entry to the Underworld to retrieve Eurydice. Sarah Ruhl’s play is a contemporary retelling of that well-known myth, but this time from his wife’s perspective.
