“The show producer made the tough decision Thursday afternoon, after being faced with low ticket sales and rising COVID-19 cases in the state, that traveling to Cedar Rapids at this time wasn’t a good idea,” Matt Ford, RHCR’s executive director and founder said Friday in a Facebook post.
Harrison, who had featured roles in “Trapper John, M.D.,” “Falcon Crest,” “One Tree Hill” and several Hallmark movies, spoke to The Gazette last week, on a day off from filming his recurring role in ABC-TV’s “General Hospital.”

He stepped into the political comedy, “God Help Us,” after his longtime friend Ed Asner died a month before he was scheduled to appear in the play for Rich Heritage of Cedar Rapids Theatre Company (RHCR) in September 2021.
“RHCR Theatre was very excited to welcome Mr. Harrison, director Mitch Levine and producer Liza Asner to our community,” Ford said, but added that with COVID infection rates rising, “safety to our cast, crew and patrons still is of utmost importance to us at RHCR.”
