An NCAA violation? Not likely

Some media outlets like this and this either said or suggested the appearance of University of Iowa football players and wrestlers at Donald Trump’s campaign event Tuesday night on the UI campus violated NCAA rules.

That isn’t the case, or certainly doesn’t seem to be the case, as this story by The Gazette’s Vanessa Miller illustrates.

“The jersey presented to Mr. Trump was not an official Iowa football jersey,” Iowa Athletic Director Gary Barta said.
