2018 All-Missouri Valley Football Conference teams: 10 UNI Panthers honored

Northern Iowa was well represented in Monday’s release of All-Missouri Valley Football Conference teams.

Tight end Briley Moore (36 receptions, 486 yards, 4 TDs), offensive lineman Cal Twait, defensive lineman Rickey Neal (53 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks), defensive back Xavior Williams (42 tackles, 4 interceptions, 3 pass breakups, 1 TD) and kicker Austin Errthum (21-24 FGs, long 46) were named to the first team.

Defensive lineman Bryce Douglas (65 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks) and linebacker Duncan Ferch (102 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 4 interceptions, 2 TDs) were named to the second team.

Running back Marcus Weymiller (221 rushes, 957 yards, 7 TDs), offensive lineman Jackson Scott-Brown and tight end Elias Nissen (10 receptions, 118 yards, 2 TDs) rounded out UNI’s honorees as honorable mentions.

North Dakota State quarterback Easton Stick was named Offensive Player of the Year, while NDSU linebacker Jabril Cox took home Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Iowa transfer Ryan Boyle, now Indiana State’s quarterback, earned the Newcomer of the Year award and South Dakota State running back Pierre Strong, Jr. was tabbed Freshman of the Year.

Indiana State’s Curt Mallory was named Coach of the Year.
