Somersaults' Ashlyn Sheeley shines at 2 gymnastics meets

Youth notebook: Moser has multiple winners in Rock Island

Ashlyn Sheeley of the Somersaults Gymnastics Team won three titles — the vault, beam and all around — at the 2018 Games in Ames meet hosted by Sapphire Gymnastics on Nov. 17.

Competing in Junior B division in Level 3, she also placed second in two events.

Carly Cronbaugh of Somersaults won the vault in Level 3 Junior A and placed in two other events.

The two also shined at the 2018 Harvest Hoedown in Des Moines earlier in the month. Sheely won the all around, placed second in two other events and third in two. Cronbaugh was second in the vault.

In Level 5, Cassidy Fangmann placed third in the beam at the Harvest Hoedown.

12 FROM MOSER WIN GOLD

Twelve members of the Moser School of Dance and Gymnastic won gold at a USTA Power Tumbling meet in Rock Island, Ill., last month.

There were 31 teams and more than 500 athletes competing at the meet.

Moser winners were Emma Oberbroeckling, Ava Nolan, Kaydence Ahart, Tucker Erickson, Kennedi Bevans, Elizabeth Recker, Aubrey Wilson, Kadee Batterson, Leigha Hinrichs, Madilyn Payne, Sydney Ketels and Vivian Clar.

Carter Phillips finished second, along with Annie Gulick, Kendall Wagner, Ella Oberbreckling, Makenna Payne, Georgia Werger, Aaliyah Rosenthal, Laura Pierschbacher, Emi Harmon, Lucas Sadewasser, Lainey Payne, Rylee Whittaker and Kennedi Benesh.

Third-place finishers from Moser were Isabel Lutgen, Allysa Sadewasser, Kylee McElmeel, Jessica Kracke and Carlee Batterson.
