Six Iowa Gym-Nest gymnasts have earned spots on USA Gymnastics national teams.
Four of these athletes — Lyla Brewer of Iowa City, Greta Krob of West Branch, Ly Bui of Swisher and Ciarra Miller of Kalona — are part of the Talent Opportunity Program, which seeks out talent at an early age and help guide the coaches through the USA Gymnastics athlete pipeline.
Brewer and Krob are part of the TOPs National Diamond Team. They are in the top 50 7-year-olds in the country. Bui, 9, and Miller, 10, qualified to National TOPs testing by finishing in the top 100 in their age group at regional testing. Both earned a spot on the TOPs National A Team.
Nora Brewer, 9, of Iowa City is part of the National Developmental Invite team and Adeline Kenlin of Iowa City is a Junior International Elite member of the USA Gymnastics National Team. She earned her spot by finishing fourth all around in the junior division at the national championships. Kenlin also won the balance beam at the US Classics.
“We are extremely proud of all the hard work our girls have put in and are very excited for their successes,” Gym-Nest owner Paige Roth said in a release. “We are eager to see where their journey takes them.”
Kenlin and coach Mary Wise are training at the National Team Training Center in Texas while Brewer, Bui and Miller are attending training camps at the NTTC with Roth.
