Here is a list of former local and area preps and former University of Iowa players who are in affiliated professional baseball. All statistics mentioned are through Thursday:
JAKE ADAMS (University of Iowa): First baseman homered Thursday night for Fayetteville (Astros) of the high-Class A Carolina League as he continues raking in April. Hitting .333 in 17 games for the Woodpeckers, with four home runs and 19 RBIs.
NICK ALLGEYER (Iowa): Left-handed starting pitcher also has performed well in April for high-A Dunedin (Blue Jays). Has made four starts and has a 2-1 record and 1.25 earned run average. A terrific WHIP of 0.74 (15 hits and one walk allowed in 21 2/3 innings). Also has 21 strikeouts.
JOEL BOOKER (Iowa): Another former Hawkeye who is having a great first month of the minor-league season. Outfielder is with Double-A Birmingham (White Sox) and has a .377 batting average in 18 games, with a home run and nine RBis. Also has stolen seven bases.
C.J. ELDRED (Mount Vernon/Iowa): Pitcher has made three relief appearances for low-A Lexington (Royals) and has no record and a 9.00 ERA. Has allowed nine hits and seven runs (five earned) in five innings, with five strikeouts.
NICK GALLAGHER (Iowa City West/Iowa): Got his first start of the season this week for high-A Lynchburg (Indians) and allowed just one hit and a run in four innings, striking out seven. Pitcher is 1-0 with a 2.63 ERA in four appearances, giving up just six hits in 13 2/3 innings and striking out 21.
MITCH KELLER (Cedar Rapids Xavier): Pitcher threw six shutout innings in his last start for Triple-A Indianapolis (Pirates). Scheduled to start again Saturday. Is 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA in four starts this season. Has 22 strikeouts in 20 innings.

MASON MCCOY (Iowa): Shortstop bucking for a promotion, as he’s hitting .359 in 19 games for high-A Frederick (Orioles). Has a homer and 14 RBIs.
ROBERT NEUSTROM (Iowa): And yet one more former Hawkeye playing well in April. Outfielder for low-A Delmarva (Orioles) has a .295 batting average 16 games with three home runs and 13 RBis. Also has more walks (12) than strikeouts (10).
TYLER PEYTON (Iowa): Reliever is struggling thus far for high-A Myrtle Beach (Cubs). No record and a 6.35 ERA in six appearances, though has struck out 15 in 11 1/3 innings.
COLIN REA (Cascade): Pitcher is 2-0 with a 3.97 ERA in four starts at Triple-A Iowa (Cubs). Won his last start this week against Nashville, throwing six innings and allowing four earned runs.
NICK ROSCETTI (Iowa): Infielder was reassigned by Brewers to extended spring training after playing five games for high-A Carolina, where he was 2-for-15 with a RBI.
SCOTT SCHEBLER (Cedar Rapids Prairie): Cincinnati Reds outfielder riding the struggle bus in April, hitting .145 in 23 games with two homers and five RBIs. Has walked nine times but has struck out in nearly one-third of his at-bats (20 in 63).
KEATON WINN (Pekin): Pitcher is 1-1 with a 2.65 ERA in four relief appearances for low-A Augusta (Giants). Peripherals are good: 15 hits allowed in 17 innings, with just two walks allowed and 16 strikeouts.
