Lions earn fifth in Jazz competition, sixth in Poms

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Linn-Mar dance team wrapped up a hugely successful season earlier this month at the Universal Dance Association National Dance Team Championships at the Walt Disney World Resort.

State champions in the Jazz and Poms divisions — and third-place finishers in Hip-Hop — the Lions placed fifth in Jazz and sixth in Poms at the “Super Bowl” of dance competitions.

The team is coached by Jennifer Hammes and Carly Hachey. Members are seniors Jenna Printy, Sami Herrera, Paige Schlotterback and Katie Thul, juniors Isabel Berg, Cassidy Burns, Madison Driscoll, Madison Japenga and Kennedy Chapman, sophomores Kelly Johnson, Madison Bradley, Kennedy Hannan, Liz Wild and Lorissa Hickson and freshmen Brynn Carr, Maddie Kerr and Katie Frazier.

“Jen and the girls have worked so hard all year on and off the floor,” parent Todd Frazier wrote in an email. “This is really a great program that is developing these young girls into true competitors and strong leaders ...”
