Cedar Rapids Xavier sophomore Eve Magill has committed to play volleyball at Creighton University.

“They came in (to the recruiting process) a little later than some others, but when I went to their camp, we really connected,” said Magill, a 6-foot-5 outside hitter. “I really love the opportunity to play for a program like Creighton.”

Magill didn’t post big numbers as a hitter last year as a freshman, but was one of Xavier’s most effective servers. She converted 95 percent of her serves and collected 24 aces.

The Saints finished 32-10 and reached the Class 4A state semifinals.

“I think I’ve really improved my defensive game,” Magill said. “I want to play all six rotations this season.”
