TRAER — The area softball scene apparently has suffered its first season-ending exposure to COVID-19.

According to Ross Thede of the Marshalltown Times-Repblican, North Tama’s season has been suspended for the remainder of the summer, due to a “player exposure to a positive COVID-19 test.”

Redhawks Coach Patty Calderwood was cited in the T-R’s report.

North Tama was 0-8 and was scheduled to open Class 1A regionals next Monday at Conrad against BCLUW.
