LISBON — Lisbon junior Emily Schultz is full of energy, both acting and racing motorcycles.
Actually, hillclimbing on motorcycles.
Lisbon High School students are putting on a musical Friday and Saturday at the Old Gym for the entertainment of the community. The cast has been prepping for the showing of “All Shook Up” for about seven weeks.
“The musical has gone great this year. We have a very young cast which is exciting about the future,” Schultz said.
She is equally excited and full of spunk about her other extracurricular activity.
“I have been racing dirt bikes since I was 4,” she said. “When I was about 7, we started going every weekend to chase points and win the overall circuit.”
Schultz has many trophies and awards from past victories.
It all started with her grandfather giving her father and uncle their own dirt bikes.
“My grandpa started racing dirt bikes in his 20s, then passed that down to his two kids,” Schultz said.
And eventually to her.
Many times, things are passed down from family member to family member. Some things even stick with the person to pass down to their children. One day, Schultz will not only have musical talent to pass down to future generations, but also her love for dirt bike racing.
