Iowa colleges — Nathan Fitzgerald of Elkader (Central) is a member of the Central men’s track and field team, along with Tanner Rathje of Marion (Linn-Mar) and Steve Adkins of Williamsburg.

Loras junior Mac Faldet of Calmar (South Winneshiek) earned academic all-Iowa Conference honors in men’s swimming.

Des Moines Area Community College freshman Avery Guy of Cedar Rapids (Jefferson) was named player of the week by the Fast-pitch News and Iowa Community College Athletic Conference earlier this season. Other area players on the DMACC roster are Ellie Dixon of Iowa City (City High), Kelsey Hora of Ainsworth (Highland Community) and Tara Lance of Solon.

Coe’s Monica Douglass of North Liberty (Clear Creek Amana) and Sa Fitzgerald of Springville (Linn-Mar) earned all-Iowa Conference academic honors in women’s swimming, along with Loras’ Mikaela Lengwin of Mount Vernon.

Central senior Emily Walton of Cedar Rapids (Jefferson) was named to the National Fast-pitch Coaches Association Leadoff Classic all-tournament team after batting .400 at the three-day event. Other area players on the Dutch team are Sydney Rudd of Brooklyn (BGM), Megan Nemechek of Elkader (Central) and Mariah Fritz of Tama (East Marshall).

Izaya Fullard of North Liberty (I.C. West), Cal Clark of Fairfax (C.R. Prairie), Nate Barnes and Spencer Wiskus of Iowa City (West), Adam Ketelsen of Mount Vernon, and Kirby Kerr (Linn-Mar) and Manny Olutunde (Jefferson) of Cedar Rapids are members of the Kirkwood baseball team.

Madi Miller of Coralville (I.C. West) is a member of the Coe softball team, along with Courtnee Hahn of Ainsworth (Highland Community), Alyssa Olson (Jefferson), Sydney Kinney (Kennedy) and Megan Weber (Kennedy) of Cedar Rapids, Christina Lincoln and Maddy Ryan of Marion (Linn-Mar), Taylor Huber of Central City (Alburnett), Claire Chandler of Center Point (Center Point-Urbana), Bailey Smith of Urbana (Center Point-Urbana), Carlee Feisel of Traer (North Tama) and Christina Nesvik of Ossian (South Winneshiek).

Members of the Cornell baseball team include Lucas Larson of Palo (C.R. Jefferson), Sage Sutter of Manchester (West Delaware), Mitch Silberstein of Solon, Cale Jamesson of Keystone (Benton Community), Adam Tvedt of Cedar Rapids (Xavier), Zach Stone (City High) and Ty Bopp (I.C. West) of Coralville, Collin Zear of Washington (Iowa), Ross Swinton of Lone Tree.

Erin Drahozal of Cedar Rapids (Jefferson) is a member of the Upper Iowa softball team.

Valarie Davidson of Cedar Rapids (Kennedy), Hayley Peterson of West Liberty, Peyton Staab of Shueyville (C.R. Prairie), Lauren Tandy of Vinton (Vinton-Shellsburg) and Allyson Wertz of Kalona (Mid-Prairie) are members of the Mount Mercy women’s golf team.

Wisconsin colleges — Erika Briscoe of Solon helped Wisconsin-Whitewater capture the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association team championship last weekend, placing 14th in the vault.

Maggie Wright of Cedar Rapids (Washington) is a member of the fencing team at Lawrence University and was named an honorable mention on the MidWest Fencing Conference team.
