Iowa colleges — Indian Hills sophomore Erin Kuba of Cedar Rapids (Jefferson) was named player of the year and earned first-team all-Iowa Community College Athletic Conference honors in Division I softball along with teammate Taylor Jones of West Branch. Kirkwood sophomore Monika Bevans of Solon, freshmen Natalie Halvorson of Ely (C.R. Prairie) and freshmen Lauren Kuch (Prairie) and Avery Guy (Jefferson) of Cedar Rapids all earned Division II first-team honors. DMACC’s Kelsey Hora of Ainsworth (Highland Community) earned second-team honors, and Kirkwood’s Audra Bridenstine of West Liberty was honorable mention along with NIACC’s Kodi Hilman of Traer (North Tama) and DMACC’s Ellie Dixon of Iowa City (City High) ... Coe College senior Brady Anderson of Cedar Rapids (Linn-Mar) was named the Iowa Conference men’s tennis MVP for the third straight season. Luther freshman Cole Schneider of Iowa City (West) also earned first-team honors. Both also were tabbed in doubles. Honorable mention selections included Wartburg senior Jeremy Ellerby of Marion ... Jackie Kriegel of Marengo (Iowa Valley) was named MVP of the Central women’s basketball team for the second year in a row after averaging 11.6 rebounds and 7.8 points per game. Alison Malaby of Mechanicsville (North Cedar) and Tina Lane of Williamsburg earned their fourth varsity letters, Emily O’Brien of Cedar Rapids (Jefferson), Maddi Hennessey of Robins (C.R. Kennedy) and Emily Hay of Stanwood (North Cedar) their first. Malaby also won the Hustle Award ... Coe junior Kevin DeLaney of Coralville (I.C. West) earned first-team all-Iowa Conference honors in baseball. Simpson sophomore Tanner Jansen of Malcolm (BGM) and Wartburg freshman Darren Kilpatrick of Fairfax (C.R. Prairie) were honorable mention ... Coe junior Alyssa Olson of Cedar Rapids (Jefferson) was named the Iowa Conference pitcher of the year in softball and was joined on the first team by teammate Megan Weber of Cedar Rapids (Kennedy) and Loras’ Savannah Fowler of Cedar Rapids (Jefferson). Central’s Emily Watson and Loras’ Hannah Towns, both from Cedar Rapids (Jefferson), were second-team picks, and Coe’s Maddy Ryan of Marion (Linn-Mar) and Madi Miller of Coralville (I.C. West) and Loras’ Bria Lenten of Cedar Rapids (Washington) were honorable mention ... Marshalltown Community College freshman Eli Bergeron of Center Point (Center Point-Urbana) earned second all-Iowa Community College Athletic Conference honors in baseball.
