CEDAR RAPIDS — All 16 teams won at least 15 games last season. Seven of them won 20 or more.

Two captured state championships.

Yeah, Rivalry Saturday XV contains another fine field.

Event director Scot Moenck released the schedule for the girls’ basketball showcase Monday morning. This year’s version will be at Kohawk Arena on the campus of Coe College for the second straight year, on Nov. 24.

Defending state champions Iowa City West (Class 5A) and Marion (4A) will bookend the eight-game event. The Women of Troy (19-7 last season) will face Davenport Assumption (16-9) at 9:15 a.m., and Marion (26-0) faces Cedar Rapids Prairie (16-7) at 8:20 p.m. in a game that probably will feature the top two teams in the Metro.

The 10:50 a.m. game is a River Valley Conference North Division battle between Anamosa (19-5) and Monticello (20-6). Anamosa joins the RVC after winning the Wamac East title last season; Monticello was a 3A state semifinalist.

Moenck’s squad from Maquoketa Valley (17-6) faces Sumner-Fredericksburg (20-3) at 12:25 p.m., then it’s East Buchanan (15-8) and MFL MarMac (17-6) at 2.

Sumner-Fredericksburg and East Buchanan will be making their Rivalry Saturday debuts.

Montezuma (20-4), a 1A state qualifier last season, will face North Linn (23-1) at 3:35 p.m. The Lynx were ranked No. 1 in Class 2A last year before suffering an upset loss to Dike-New Hartford in the regional finals.

Mississippi Valley Conference newcomer Western Dubuque (18-5) tangles with 2017 4A state champion North Scott (20-3) at 5:10, then 2018 4A state semifinalist Center Point-Urbana (22-4) meets Mount Vernon (16-7) in a Wamac cross-divisional matchup at 6:45.
