Cedar Rapids Washington 78, 5A No. 1 Waterloo West 71 (OT)
Cedar Rapids Washington upset top-ranked Waterloo West, 78-71, in overtime Tuesday night in Waterloo.
Tied 63-63 after four quarters, the Warriors outscored the Wahawks 15-8 in overtime.
Hannah Stuelke had 24 points and Sydney Mitvalsky scored 23 for Washington (2-1).
Halli Poock had 28 points for West (1-1).
Solon 55, Marion 43
Sure, there have been some extenuating circumstances. But nonetheless, the Solon Spartans have completed quite the pre-Christmas combo.
Hilary Wilson scored all 10 of her points in a telling third quarter, and Solon dusted Marion, 55-43, in a Wamac Conference girls’ basketball game Tuesday night at Solon High School.
“It’s so exciting,” Wilson said. “We were so bummed we got canceled (Monday, against West Branch). We’ve been talking about this game forever.”

Linn-Mar 62, Waterloo East 13
The Lions got out to a 16-0 lead after one quarter and never looked back in Marion.
Hallie Pak, Sofia Bush and Caelynn Obloeton each scored nine points to lead Linn-Mar.
Bush also had six rebounds and six steals.
Iowa City Regina 55, Durant 43
Lillian Simpson led Regina with 12 points in a defensive battle in Durant.
Alli Clark added 11 points and Grace Gaarde had nine for the Regals.

Anaya Barney scored 36 points for the sixth-ranked Tigers in Cedar Falls.
