Purdue hit 19 of 34 3-pointers and blasted No. 17 Iowa 104-68 in Big Ten men's basketball game Wednesday night at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette. Ind.
The Hawkeyes fell to 16-7 overall and 7-5 in the Big Ten. Purdue is 13-10, 6-6.
Turning point: Luka Garza gave Iowa a 2-0 lead and that turned out to be the Hawkeyes' only lead of the game. Purdue immediately went on a 17-0 run and led 61-36 at halftime. It only got worse.
MVP: Garza scored a game-high 26 points, but it didn't matter. The Boilermakers used an array out of outside shooters to roll, led by Evan Boudreaux's 18 points on 4-of-6 3-point shooting. He added eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.
Key stat: 19-6. Purdue made 19 3-pointers on 34 made attempts, Iowa made six out of 25. That wasn't the whole story of the game, but it was a big reason why it escaped Iowa so quickly.
