Iowa colleges — Senior H-back Kyle Gritsch of Brooklyn (BGM) earned NCAA III All-American academic honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America as a member of the Central football team. Gritsch has a 3.44 GPA in exercise science and finished the season with 39 receptions for 576 yards.

Sydney Schroder (City High) and Jenna Lehman (Regina) of Iowa City, Jordan Holmes (Kennedy) and Aleena Hobbs (Washington) of Cedar Rapids, Taylor Huber of Alburnett and Cassie Norton of Lisbon are members of the Coe women’s basketball team.

Anne Visser and Kandis O’Donnell of Cedar Rapids (Washington) are members of the Cornell women’s basketball team.

Blair Klostermann of Dyersville (Beckman), Ashley Rosenstiel of Oelwein and Savannah Domeyer of Guttenberg (Clayton Ridge) are members of the Upper Iowa women’s basketball team.

Abbigail Kinnaird of Tiffin (Clear Creek Amana), Sara Blowers of Iowa City (City High), Samantha Kitterman of Cedar Rapids (Jefferson), Chelsey Lampe of Riverside (Highland Community) and Lanessa Lamas of Marion (Linn-Mar) are members of the Mount Mercy women’s basketball team.

Alex Oldham of Anamosa earned the Dutch Spirit Award as a member of the Central women’s cross country team for the second year in a row, and Missy Charlton of Cedar Rapids (Linn-Mar) earned her first varsity letter.

Haley Mullinnix of West Branch, Brianna Mensen of Delhi (Maquoketa Valley), Olivia Usher of Cedar Rapids (Prairie) and Arika Wooldridge of Center Point (Center Point-Urbana) are members of the Kirkwood women’s basketball team.

Abby Hellweg of Cedar Rapids (Kennedy) is a member of the Grinnell women’s basketball team.

Emily Hay of Stanwood (North Cedar), Maddie Hennessey of Robins (C.R. Kennedy), Alison Malaby of Mechanicsville (North Cedar), Jackie Kriegel of Marengo (Iowa Valley), Emily O’Brien of Cedar Rapids (Jefferson) and Tina Lane of Williamsburg are members of the Central women’s basketball team.

Sarah Morkel of Independence (West Delaware), Katie Sommer and Kristie Sommer of Cedar Rapids (Linn-Mar), Aryn Jones of Maron (Linn-Mar), Kaitlyn Volesky of Mount Vernon and Ali Butters of Kalona (Mid-Prairie) are members of the Wartburg women’s basketball team.

Madie Bacon of Tama (South Tama) and Allyson Simpson of Atalissa (West Branch) are members of the Simpson women’s basketball team.

Morgan Straight of Belle Plaine, Nichole Oberthien of Solon are members of the Waldorf women’s basketball team.

Grace Tahahwah of Tama (Meskwaki) is a member of the Ellsworth women’s basketball team.

Mollie Mason of Iowa City (West) was named the Jamie Hill Most Valuable Player on the Central volleyball team, and DaLana Kron of West Branch was named Most Improved. Melissa Miller of Williamsburg earned her third varsity letter.
