Letters to the Editor

Why doesn't The Gazette make virus data more visible?

The Gazette criticizes Gov. Kim Reynolds for not reporting COVID-19 data as she or her website did at the beginning of the crisis. The numbers are still available through the Iowa health website. The Gazette admits it still is there, evidently not as conveniently as The Gazette wants.

If The Gazette were that concerned about the numbers, the paper would prominently print the numbers every day on the front page and website so people don’t have to rummage through their articles trying find the state and county data. If you can’t find the print space on the front page of the newspaper, don’t criticize Reynolds for changing the emphasis at her briefings and website.

Your articles and editorials on the data are not displaying any introspection over the difference between your behavior and the governor’s behavior.
